How Can I Help?

Individuals and community groups are an important source of financial and volunteer support. Working with staff, our donors and volunteers provide homeless families and individuals with the tools they need to move into stable housing.

Donated Items

Rising costs are making it difficult to keep up with basic supplies.  Our emergency housing program needs the following:

  • Milk

  • Cereal

  • Dish Soap

  • Laundry Soap

  • Laundry dryer sheets

  • 409, simple green or any other floor and all surface cleaner/disinfectant

  • Trash bags 45gl and 13gl

Items can be delivered to the Access Center at 437 Fernando Court from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or to the Emergency Housing program (middle door at the same address) after 4:30 p.m., any day of the week.

Volunteer Information

Guest Chef - Over 40 community groups volunteer each year to serve 14,600 meals in our emergency shelter. Food supplies and cooking skills are donated by excellent cooks from throughout the community. Served family style, dinner in the shelter is a great opportunity for residents to gain the energy and conversation they need to work towards permanent housing.

House & Garden Club - For families who live in our shelter, Achieve Glendale is their temporary home. We work hard to maintain a clean working environment for our residents; extra cleaning, repair work, and gardening donated by our volunteers helps us maintain a beautiful facility. Periodic House & Garden days are organized to bring together parents and children for a day of civic service and family bonding.

Community Case Manager - Individuals interested in learning the challenges of homelessness first hand can volunteer as a Community Case Manager, working alongside staff as we develop resources, meet one-on-one with clients and help them move towards permanent housing. The Community Case Manager program is a great internship and career development opportunity.

If you would like to volunteer, please filling out the necessary information in the areas below.
