Generous support of $2 million each from the S.H. Ho Foundation and the City of the Glendale have made possible two new exciting projects for PATH Achieve Glendale.

PATH Achieve Glendale plans to move in 2013 to new permanent headquarters in southeast Glendale, at 1851 Tyburn St. Renovation of an existing warehouse will begin in late 2011, scheduled to be completed in early 2013. At nearly 12,000 square feet, the new space will replace the existing Access Center and Emergency Housing Program. The new building will include service offices, a large living room, dining area with high ceiling, and a commercial kitchen. Sleeping quarters will move to the second floor, offering more privacy for residents. In addition there will be an accessible family bathroom with tub for families with small children and people with mobility challenges. We will continue to have 40 beds of emergency housing for families and individuals. With community space separate from the bed area, we plan to have more group activities for clients and the community.

In addition to new headquarters, PATH Achieve will have its first building dedicated to permanent supportive housing. The 9 unit apartment building, located around the corner from PATH Achieve’s new headquarters, has five one-bedroom units and four two-bedroom units. Residents will be clients from PATH Achieve’s Access Center and Emergency Housing programs. The housing will be affordable to extremely low-income families and individuals, giving them the opportunity to further stabilize their finances and ultimately move on to market rate housing. Walking distance to the new Access Center on Tyburn, the building is expected to open in 2012.
